"In the Bleak Midwinter" was composed by Gustav Holst in 1906 to accompany a poem by Christina Rossetti, the younger sister of the poet and painter Dante Gabriel Rossetti, published in 1872. This arrangement for a flute choir is adapted from the voice and piano version published in "Favorite Christmas Classics", edited by Patrick M. Liebergen.
